Argonne National Laboratory and Integrated Fuel Technologies have developed an in-line DeNOx Catalytic Converter for diesel engines. This HC-SCR DeNOx system uses onboard diesel fuel as a reducing agent to convert NOx to inert N2 and O2 gases. Laboratory tests have shown that under normal operating temperatures and engine loading, this “After-Treatment System” removes more than 95% of NOx, Particulate Matter (PM), and CO from diesel engine exhaust.
